  • Traditional Anglican Church located just north of the CBD
A professional and experienced receptionist / administrator is sought to work in the office of a traditional Anglican Church located just north of the CBD in a permanent part time capacity, responsible to the Parish Priest and Church Wardens.
The Church Receptionist / Administrator is required Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 9am to 5pm but will commence on just Wednesday & Thursdays. The role is autonomous and self-directed to undertake church business and administrative tasks, including database maintenance, rosters, diary management, newsletters, facility hiring, and website maintenance. There is also the responsibility to open and close the church building at 9am and 5pm and open the office for opening hours of 9am to 1pm. One Wednesday a month there is an option to finish at 1pm and then attend the church council meeting at 7pm in a formal capacity.
 
The ideal candidate will have sound experience in a similar administrative role, preferably having strong customer service skills, used Microsoft suite software, and with a strong commitment and motivation to work for the Anglican Church.
 
You will need to have:
  • Qualifications in administration or equivalent experience working in a reception and/or administrative capacity;
  • Motivated to work for the Church and possess a strong commitment to its practices and values;
  • Demonstrated ability in accurate and proficient performance of administrative tasks;
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills and a pastoral attitude;
  • An ability to relate to a variety of people and the capacity to develop and maintain sound working relationships with other Church workers and volunteers;
  • Capacity to coordinate various Church events, ministries and facility hire;
  • Capacity to work with minimum supervision;
  • The ability to keep confidentiality (and the discernment to know what must be kept confidential);
  • Computer competency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Publisher, Word & Excel;
  • A national police check (or willingness to obtain one) and the right to work in Australia.
